Hello friends! (ah, does anyone remember when I used to greet every post like that?) I have some very exciting news to share with you guys. I gave you a hint in my last post (I said the quality of the post was impacted), but did anyone guess? More importantly, did anyone guess correctly? Let’s find out…
I GOT A DSLR CAMERA!
(Liberty guessed correctly)
That’s right. For my recent birthday, I received a very special present. A Nikon D3500. I was so excited and I literally can not stop taking pictures with it. The pictures are way clearer than on my phone(which I usually use), and take a lot less work. Expect to see post with a lot more pictures from now on. I can’t wait to use my new camera and learn all about it!
Also, I changed the blog design and updated my pages. So, check them out! Tell me what you think of the new design.
I’m going to include some pictures in this post to make it less boring. I’ll also share some interesting comparisons between my phone and my camera. Stay tuned to the end for a hint about my summer project.
Previously, I always though Rocket wasn’t that photogenic. Whenever I tried to snap a picture of him, It came out SUPER blurry. However, after getting my DSLR, I realize that my phone just doesn’t have very good focus.
Look at the detail in that picture! I love how it blurs out the background.
This is my dog Poco. She is also very precious.
Rocket has grown to where he’ll bark at the slightest noise unless I tell him it’s okay. I really like how this photo captures his motion without looking blurry.
Rocket LOVES Chap, my other dog, however Chap doesn’t always feel the same way.
(I have three dogs, but I’ll refer to them as my dog(Rocket), my mom’s dog(Chap), and my dad’s dog(Poco)
Chap really is a sweet dog.
Here’s Rocket being a bit naughty.
My dad got some roses for my mom on Valentine’s day. Perfect subject for my new DSLR camera.
The remainder of my lovely birthday cake.
Rocket is so adorable when he sleeps.
He can only fall asleep when he’s against another warm body. Aww, he’s such a sweetie!
I also took a picture of one of my AG dolls. It came out a little odd though, I think this is the worst picture I’ve taken yet. What would you guys think if I make a few AG themed posts every now and then?
Rocket’s being a little naughty chewing on something here.
I love him with his toys!
Chap and Rocket look like BFFs here.
I’m really impressed at how well this picture came out! Rocket can certainly run fast, and as you can tell, he’s running in the picture. And it still comes out fairly clear.
Look at this face!
Okay, so here’s where I started to experiment. I took this photo of a light on the automatic setting, but…
Here’s the same picture with the bright setting! It looks so much better, and you can clearly see what’s going on. I can’t wait to take pictures and not have to worry about the lighting being off as much.
This is how Rocket looks under the bright setting.
I went into a dark room and took this photo of Rocket under the dark setting. It looks amazing!
I took this picture through my window. I think it looks pretty good.
So, here’s a photo taken with my DSLR. I believe I took this at full zoom, but my camera has another lens that can zoom further.
Same picture, from the same place, only difference is that I used my phone. You can clearly see a difference, right?
Then, I decided to take photos of my movie collections. I got Sing, and The Grinch for my birthday, so I now have the complete Illumination collection!(I have quite a few other collections as well)
This is the box my cake came in. It even looks cool!
I took two different photos of the ceiling and compared the zoom.
What do you guys think? Are you excited for my new, better quality photos? What are your best photography tips?
P.S. The first teaser for my secret summer project is…………………………..
It is something that a very popular doll blog has done in the past over the summer.
Have fun guessing guys!
