How to Make Friends Online (Friendship Fridays ~ BAB Takeover Week February 2020)

Hello friends! Today, Dreamy and I will be showing you how to make friends online! Now, you do have to be careful, because you never know who you’re talking to online, but I’d say that most people you meet on a blog are pretty nice. Still, you don’t want to share too much online. I generally say not to share your age, name, state you live in, phone number, or any personal information. You might be okay sharing your name or something, and that’s okay! I like to stay on the safe side.

Now, obviously I share my name, but that is because I am a stuffed animal.

Anyway, you can still make friends online without sharing any of that information. I will show you how!

Step 1 – Go to a blog

This is really easy, so Dreamy just picked our blog. You can go to any blog you like though. You’re going to read through a post. It can be the most recent post, or just one of your favorites.

Step 2 – Like the post

This shows the blog owner that you like their post(wow, really Summer?? Yes, Dreamy! *sighs*) This is good for posts that you like, but you just don’t like quite enough to comment. *HOWEVER, we highly recommend you comment on posts! Keep reading to find out how!*

Step 3 – Commenting

Ok, so a lot of bloggers ask questions at the end of their posts. Obviously they do this to create interaction between blogger and viewers. You can answer some or all, or even none of these questions, just make sure you have something to say about the post.

Scroll all the way down here to the comment forms…

Comment with a little introduction(especially if you are new to that blog) and then share a thought about the post. I like to sign the comments, but that isn’t necessary.

If you don’t have anything nice to say about the post, then don’t say anything. A blogger would rather get no comments than rude ones.

Some bloggers don’t reply to comments, but that’s okay! You can still talk to other commenters. Also, if you are a blogger,I highly recommend replying to your comments. You will get more readers, and your blog will just be a little bit better.

Commenting is a great way to get new followers if you have your own blog. I mean, any blogger probably knows this already, but I just thought I would mention it anyway.

It may take time to build relationships with other bloggers, and they won’t always read your blog, even if you’re their #1 fan. But that’s okay.

Anyway, Dreamy has a challenge for you! I’m handing it over to her now!

Ok guys, so Summer just mentioned how to comment and interact with other bloggers. I’m going to give you a challenge, and I hope you enjoy it.

(If you have never commented on any blog before) Set up a WordPress/Google account and follow some blogs. Comment on 5 posts, including this one.

(If you’ve never commented on this blog) Leave a comment and introduce yourself!

(If you are already a regular commenter) Try to comment on the next five posts you read!

Let me know how that goes for you!

  1. This was a great post, Summer and Dreamy! You had great tips. I’m definitely excited for Camp Happy Heart! I think I’m already signed up but I have a bad memory so I might not remember correctly.

  2. I was literally going through my reader commenting on every post, when I came across this. After I read the whole thing I thought to myself, “Liberty, you are doing something right for once.”

    anyway …
