Hello friends! It is I, Teacup. Today, I will be sharing some of our graphic designs evolutions. Now, I am the resident designer here at BABF, but Diamond has also done a bit of designing. Everything was designed by one of us. Let’s get started.
Era 1: 2017 – The beginning
In 2017, we’d just started BABF. Diamond wasn’t a super experienced blogger(despite 3 years of prior experience), so we didn’t have a lot of featured images or graphic designs. We had the button and Diamond’s signature. And…actually these have held up! While these are our most rudimentary designs, I do feel that simple is sometimes best. Also, the styles were very similar, using similar fonts and colors.
Era 2: 2017 – Photofunia
Photofunia is a cool website where you can input text or a photo and you can customize it. We made a lot of signatures. While these aren’t my favorite, we still use them.
Era 3: 2018 – BABTW and Transparency
During this era, Diamond was first starting out with some of our segments. There weren’t featured images in every post. The featured images that were there usually consisted of a photo, then a transparent rectangle taking up half the photo, then the text. Our current style is actually pretty similar, just a bit more refined.
Era 4: 2018 – Patterns
During this period of time, featured images were slowly becoming more common in our posts. Unless it was a photoshoot, all of the featured images had this style, with a patterned background and transparent square.
Era 5: 2019 – Photography
See, for this era, Diamond used a stock photo as a background. Other than that, it is very similar to the pattern era.
Era 6: 2019 – Christmas
Admittedly, this era was very similar to era 5. However, Diamond did try to really make each image shine.
Era 7: 2020 – Cool Backgrounds
Now, really these aren’t super different either. But, over time, Diamond and I have really refined our skills and therefore I feel that these designs look a bit better than the prior ones.
Era 8: 2020 – Christmas
What really makes these final batch of images special is that Diamond took the background photo for each one! It really adds a nice touch.
I feel like we will continue to evolve as we keep blogging. We’ve had a good run so far, but I can’t wait to see where we’ll go…
Which era was your favorite? Tell me a bit about your designing style. I’d love to hear from you!
