Welcome Ceremony

Hello Friends! Welcome to Camp Happy Heart year three! Now, I see we have some new faces in the audience today, so we’ve arranged a Welcome Ceremony! We’ll be going over some important information today, so please pay attention!

First off, Camp Happy Heart will go from June 1st to July 31st. However, to all you guest campers out in the blogosphere, you can come and go as you please!

Anyway, now I must turn the time over to the staff to announce the rules in the form of a skit.

“Hm, a walk would be fun right about now!”

“Oh no! I seem to have gotten lost. If only there was a way to have prevented this!”

Rule #1. Always use the buddy system

“Psst, hey Summer! Let’s go for a walk and not tell the counselors!”

“Good idea.”

“Where are Summer and Treasure! They’ve gone missing! We’d better start up a search party.”

Rule #2. Tell a counselor your whereabouts

“I don’t think I feel like going to morning announcements today.”

“Wait, what’s going on? I have no idea what the daily event is now!”

Rule #3. Attend morning announcements

“Eden, can you please stop talking now?”

“Nope! Eden wants to stay up all night and talk!”

~The next day~

“I just can’t stay awake today!”

Rule #4. Lights out at 9 p.m

“I think I’m going to go for a morning swim!”

“Help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!”

Rule #5. Only swim during free time

“Are you ready to help me out in the kitchen Pumpkin?”

“Nah, I don’t feel like it!”

“Look, it’s not easy to feed twenty campers and the staff! If you don’t help me, maybe you won’t get any dinner.”

Rule #6. Help out with chores

“Nah, I don’t feel like going to the main hall today…”

“Where’s Treasure? There’s a really bad storm coming and she needs to be here!”

Rule #7. Come to the main hall when the whistle is blown

“Brr, it’s so cold. Maybe I’ll just get a little closer to the fire…”

“Oww, my hair! Bad idea.”

Rule #8. Always have adult supervision by the fire

Finally, our last rule is to HAVE FUN!

Now, we’re going to introduce our staff!

Meet your counselors! Clarice, Peri, Treasure, Summer, Teacup, and Starburst will all answer any questions you may have!

Pumpkin is our resident photographer. Make sure to smile when you see her, you may be being photographed! Dreamy here is our camp nurse. You can stop by her if you’re ever feeling under the weather.

Berry is the chef, and Eden is your craft coordinator.

“I will be going over the schedule. At 8, it will be time for breakfast at the main hall, followed by morning announcements at 9. Right after that, you will all have 45 minutes of outdoor play. At 10, we’lll do our craft. 11 is time for lunch and chores. At 12, we’ll participate in our daily event! Then you all get 3 hours of free time before journaling and letters. At 6 we have dinner and a nightly event. We’ll end the night with an hour of quiet time before lights out.”

“Ahaha, it’s my turn! I will be giving you all a tour of camp!”

“Here is the map! As you can see, we rearranged since last year. I hope this helps you guys not get lost.”

“That’s all campers! We hope you have a great year here at camp!”

Signing off! If you have any further questions about camp, please don’t hesitate to ask! Keep an eye out for our campfire photoshoot tomorrow.
