Baking Candy Cane Cookies

Hello friends!

Today’s post was not scheduled ahead of time…which kind of stressed me out a bit. But anyway, I think there’s plenty of time for me to finish this up before 3 p.m. If you’re seeing this, then that’s a good sign!

Anyway, I mentioned how it was a Naughty and Nice themed post didn’t I? But it isn’t a new episode? Well, what could it be!?

I’m going to be baking Peppermint Chocolate Chip Cookies like the North Pole is famous for in the series! I think I might call them Candy Cane Cookies because that has a nice ring to it. Basically, ever since I came up with the idea of peppermint chocolate chip cookies during the writing of Naughty and Nice, I’ve wanted to try some. Whelp…now I can!

Peppermint + chocolate = deliciousness, so peppermint + chocolate chip cookies must be pretty good too right?

Shall we begin?

Poof! That was fast. The dough is all whipped up! I used this recipe, but I didn’t use quite so many chocolate chips. I decided to split up the recipe and make half of it just regular chocolate chip cookies in case I didn’t like my erm…experiment.

Into the oven we go! I was going to make some tiny cookies for the bears, but then I felt like they’d burn too easily.

Next, I crushed my candy canes. I used about 3.

(I say about because I dropped the majority of one on the floor…so technically it was about 3 and 1/4 of one, but you get the point.)

Mmm, that looks amazingggggggggggg.

And of course, they’re melting together. Oh well.

Look! The first batch is done.

Waffle is here today as our taste tester.

Very nice! I think you could have cooked them more evenly though.

Oh um…I mean, hey a free cookie is a free cookie?

Finally, what you all came here for, the Candy Cane Cookies!

These look very interesting…

*takes a bite*

Hm, not bad! I would have used more peppermint, but if you like candy canes, these cookies are for you!

There you have it! Straight from the master chef himself. My cookies are “not bad.”

I’ll take it!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed! How is your Saturday going so far? Any plans for the rest of the day? I’ve obviously spent the morning baking. After I grab a quick lunch, I’m hoping to work on some more posts for the 31 Days of Christmas. Hopefully, I’ve done that by the time this post goes up.

Have a great day, and remember, new Naughty and Nice tomorrow!
