Oh No, The Power’s Out!

It’s a stormy day at Camp Happy Heart.

The Bold Butterflies cabin is gathered in their cabin, not wanting to walk around in the dangerous weather.

The power flickers out and the four campers are left standing in the dark.

“Oh my!” Cherie shrieks. “I don’t like the dark.”

Cherie thinks she sees a ghost in the window.

She runs to her bed and hides. “I don’t like the dark…”

Swirl goes over to comfort her friend. “It’ll be alright,” she pats Cherie’s shoulder. “We’re here with you.”

“Yeah,” Cherry pipes up. “Nothing will happen to you if we all stick together.”

“I have an idea,” Azura grins.

Azura pulls the group together and they all bundle up with a large blanket.

“Thanks guys,” Cherie says.

She hears another rustle outside. She takes a deep breath. “I’m safe. It’s probably just my imagination. Thanks guys…”

“Actually, I hear it too this time,” Swirl comments.

“Boo!” Mischief yells.

“Don’t do that!” Azura scolded. “You scared Cherie!”

“Oh,” he sighs. “Sorry. But at least it was fun!”

“For you maybe,” Cherie rolls her eyes.

“Get out!” Cherry scolds.

“But it’s storming outside! You wouldn’t make me go back in the rain, would you?”

Cherry chases Mischief out of the cabin. Suddenly he can run very fast!

The girls gather under the blanket again.

“Thanks for taking care of me,” Cherie thanked. “I know my fears are sort of silly sometimes, but I appreciate how you guys always make me feel better.”

The girls enclose Cherie in a hug.

“Of course,” Swirl grins. “That’s what friends are for.”

I hope you liked that little story!
