Sandy’s Study Tips ~ Back to School Week

Hello friends! I’m Sandy here to share my best study tips with you all as part of Back to School week. I came up with 10 tips that always help me study more effectively. I’m a no-nonsense bear, so let’s get right into it!

Take cute notes

I know for some people this can be overkill, but, for me it really helps. So when you’re in class, you write down notes quickly. Then after class, you copy the notes down in your notebook in your best handwriting. Writing down your notes twice can help engrain them into your brain.

Memorable acronyms

When there’s something you need to remember, try to arrange the thing in a memorable way. As you can see here, in order to remember the planetary order you can make an acronym. Here’s one I learned: My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas. It helps me remember that the order is Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto.

Develop healthy habits

It can be tempting to stay up all night studying before a test. But I think that getting a good night’s rest is even better. It’s also important to eat somewhat healthy and not skip any meals.

Do the hard work first

Get the hard stuff out of the way first. I do my math problems before English, to kind of save English as a reward. Also, you’re fresher when you start studying versus when you’ve been working for a couple hours.

Get fun school supplies

It always motivates me to get new school supplies. It’s like a magic studying hack!

Snack while you study

Sometimes…having something to much on can help you focus. Or at the very least it makes studying more bearable.

Dress comfortably

Scratchy clothes definitely won’t help you to focus. You need to dress comfortably, but also cute! Whatever your style is. I love cardigans personally.

Get a study buddy

Another person can definitely help keep you accountable. It’s especially awesome if you can get someone who is in the same class as you so that you can help each other better. But any study buddy will do!

Make a schedule

It doesn’t have to be the same every day, but make a list of what work you need to get done and try to follow it.

Change your enviroment

If all else fails, change your enviroment. Sometimes we get bored in our workspaces and could just use a break. Change your scenery! Study in another room, or even outside. I definitely think this could help.

I hope you enjoyed! I also hope that these help you guys.

Come back tomorrow for a backpack tour!

  1. Great tips, Sandy!! I agree with you, getting a study buddy definitely helps! Oh and yes, eating while studying is the best. (Now I’m hungry XD) Taking cute notes does help too! There was a point in my studying where I just wrote everything down and it was VERY unorganized. But, lately, I’ve been switching things up and been taking aesthetic notes (or I try to). It definitely makes me want to take more notes and look back through them! Thank you so much for all the tips, Sandy! ❤

  2. Helpful tips, sandy!
I agree that having fun school supplies..kind of motivate you to do your work.
I’ve been using the 4th tip a lot, completing the hard /time consuming work first, it’s difficult but once you’re done, its a huge relief 😄
