Hello friends! Here’s the follow-up to yesterday’s post. I hope you like it!
It was the last morning of Camp Happy Heart.
I rolled over in my bed. Most mornings at Camp, I would burst out of bed, eager to get on with the day’s activities, but not today. Today I would have to go home.
Before too long, my cabinmates all gathered to go to breakfast. I decided to go with them, though I didn’t really feel like eating.
At the main hall, we all talked about our camp memories.
“I don’t want to leave!” I exclaimed.
“Me neither,” Tye sighed. “I only just met you guys a couple months ago, but I wish we could stay at camp forever.”
“Let’s stay at camp forever!” Mischief instantly shouted.
“C’mon guys,” Chip reasoned. “Let’s be realistic. If camp went on forever, it wouldn’t be as fun.”
Just then, my sister Claire walked up to me.
“Mom says she’ll be here at 2,” she told me.
I groaned. Camp would officially be over at 2, and then I’d be on my way home. Ugh.
“Great,” I replied sarcastically.
After breakfast, it was time to pack up our cabins.
I hastily threw my stuff in the bag.
“Time for lunch!” Mischief exclaimed. He seemed unusally excited about lunch.
After we ate lunch, Mischief disappeared. He claimed he was just going to the bathroom, but who could be sure with that one.
The rest of us lingered in the main hall.
Within seconds, we were covered in soap.
Mischief made his way over to us.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” he asked. “I put dish soap in the dishwasher.”
Counselor Peri was making her way over to us. She did not look happy.
“You boys need to clean this up!” she shouted. “I can’t believe you did this Mischief. You five are not allowed to leave camp until this mess is cleaned up.”
I liked that idea. I didn’t like cleaning, and I didn’t want to leave camp. This was perfect.
“Don’t you like my prank?” Mischief asked.
“I love it!” I shouted, diving into the bubbles.
We had a great time playing in the dish soap.
Counselor Peri came back. “Why isn’t this mess cleaned up yet?” she roared.
“Well, you said that we couldn’t leave until this is cleaned up. If we never clean this up, we never have to leave!” I replied.
“You mean you aren’t excited to see your mom again?” Counselor Peri asked. “Or play your Xbox?”
I sighed. I did want to do those things.
“Camp Happy Heart is great because it’s so short. If it was all year, it wouldn’t be very fun,” Counselor Peri explained. “Now, clean this up.”
We all got to work shoving the soap out of the main hall. We dried everything off the best we could with towels.
Before too long, the main hall was clean again.
I said goodbye to all of my cabinmates. I was going to miss them so much.
I was happy to see my mom again. She gave us a hug, then walked Claire and me to our car.
“How was your day?” she asked.
“You would not believe the day I had.”

P.S. Don’t forget to send in photos to worldofagdollsblog(at)gmail(dot)com! We need them by Thursday!
Awesome ending!! 😀
