Christmas Caroling ~ A Photoshoot

Hello friends! It’s getting really close to Christmas, so I won’t mention how many days are left. (We’re getting a little too close for my taste).

Anyway, today the Stones starred in a Christmas Caroling photoshoot for all of you to enjoy. I hope you like it!

“Kids!” Mommy melodiously called. “It’s almost time to leave for Christmas caroling!”

“Oh, but we aren’t ready!” Sandy frantically replied. “Please let us practice one more song?”

“Alright,” Daddy agreed. “But make it quick.”

Sandy tapped along to the beat and then lead the clan in song.

Hark! the herald angels sing:
“Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled”
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With angelic hosts proclaim:
“Christ is born in Bethlehem”
Hark! the herald angels sing:
“Glory to the newborn King!”

With that, the Stone family was ready to head over to the first house.

They decided to start off at Aunt Bella’s house.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
‘Tis the season to be jolly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la Don we now our gay apparel Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.
Troll the ancient Yule-tide carol
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.

See the blazing Yule before us.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Then, it was time to carol for Aunt Starburst and her family. Swirl felt a little sick lately, so the Stones decided to only carol outside of the tiny house. Better safe than sorry!

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

DSC_5662

Silent night, holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing ‘Alleluia
Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born

After that beautiful rendition of Silent Night, the family of nine headed to Aunt Cokie’s house to serenade her.

The first Noel the angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds
In fields as they lay,
In fields where they,
Laying their sheep
On a cold winter’s night
That was so deep.
Noel Noel Noel Noel!
Born is the King of Israel!

DSC_5665

They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the East beyond them far,
And to the earth it gave great light,
And so it continued both day and night.
Noel Noel Noel Noel!
Born is the King of Israel!

There was no question which Christmas carol the Stones would sign for Rudolph and his family.

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,
you know Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen,
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows

DSC_5668

All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say,
Rudolph with your nose so bright,
Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight

Once at home, the Stones had one more person they wanted to carol for: their friend, Tye.

Joy to the world, the Lord is come;

Let earth receive her King!

Let ev’ry heart prepare him room,

And Saints and angels sing,

And Saints and angels sing,

And Saints, and Saints and angels sing.

DSC_5670

Rejoice! Rejoice when Jesus reigns,

And Saints their songs employ,

While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains

Repeat the sounding joy,

Repeat the sounding joy,

Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

Just when the Stones thought they were done, Cali shouted, “Wait! We forgot someone!”

“Who did we forget?” Mommy asked.

“Our followers!” Cali replied. “Let’s sing them one last carol,”

“Okay,” Daddy replied. The group decided on a song to sing and then began to harmonize.

We wish you a Merry Christmas;
We wish you a Merry Christmas;
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Good tidings we bring to you and your kin;
Good tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Oh, bring us a figgy pudding;
Oh, bring us a figgy pudding;
Oh, bring us a figgy pudding and a cup of good cheer.

We wish you a Merry Christmas;
We wish you a Merry Christmas;
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Good tidings we bring to you and your kin;
Good tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I hope you enjoyed the wonderful carols “sung” to you by the Stone clan! We here at BABF definitely wish a Merry Christmas to you and yours. See you tomorrow with more 25 Days of Christmas.
